If you’re a fan of golf, you surely know Yusaku Miyazato, a top-tier Japanese pro golfer with seven tour wins and the 2017 money title. He’s also the first-ever active players’ association president to achieve this feat!
Born into a golfing family in Okinawa, his brother Kiyoshi and sister Ai are also professional golfers. But did you know his wife is a former model?
Her name is Sachie Ogawa, and they got married in 2007. She’s four years older than Yusaku and used to appear in magazines and on TV.
How Did They Meet?
Their encounter was through mutual friends in 2006, while Yusaku was challenging the PGA Tour in the U.S. Despite their different worlds—golf and modeling—they hit it off instantly.
A Quick Path to Marriage
Just one year after they started dating, they tied the knot on October 28, 2007. Their wedding took place in Okinawa in January 2008, attended by family, golf and entertainment industry friends. Notably, Ai Miyazato served as the bridal attendant!
Life in Nagoya
Today, they live in Nagoya, where Yusaku trains at a local Fujifilm golf course. They don’t have children but share their home with a beloved dog.
